About us

Jennifer Gjerseth

As you can see in the photo, that's me with my two dogs. Yukon (left) is a German Shorthaired Pointer and Cinder (right) is an Australian Shepherd. I used to hunt pheasant with Yukon occasionally and he is one great bird dog (but otherwise super lazy)! Cinder is my sassy, super smart, talkative, loving herding machine. I also have three cats - Loki, Camilla, and Asher.

I started professionally training animals about 14 years ago, and founded Happy Tails Pet Training in 2014. I am a member of the Force Free Trainers of Wisconsin, and I am also a trainer and evaluator for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen program.

I have a laid back personality and take a non-judgmental and realistic approach to training and behavior modification. I follow humane and science-based training techniques and am an advocate for force-free training. I specialize in reactivity, human related aggression, and shy and fearful dogs. I also love working on basic skills with dogs of all ages!
